Non-tactile membrane switches

Non-tactile membrane switches provide a smooth, flat pressing surface with no audible click or physical snap. They rely on a gentle, linear actuation that requires minimal force, making them ideal for applications where silent operation, easy cleaning, or accidentalpress prevention is critical. Without metal domes, these switches offer an extremely long lifecycle—often exceeding five million actuations—and lower manufacturing costs. The graphic overlay remains perfectly flat, allowing seamless integration into sealed, spillproof panels. Nontactile designs excel in medical environments (reducing noise fatigue), industrial controls (glovefriendly pressing), and consumer appliances (simple, intuitive interfaces). They can be fully customized with backlighting, embossed borders (without tactile domes), and antimicrobial coatings. Their thin, flexible construction saves space while maintaining excellent resistance to dust, moisture, and chemicals.

Surface Finishing Matte, gloss, anti-glare, anti-fingerprint, or soft-touch texture. Hard coating for scratch/chemical resistance. Smooth, continuous finish – no raised domes. UV and abrasion resistant.
Adhesive Backing Permanent or repositionable 3M™ PSA. Temperature range: -40°C to +120°C. Resists humidity, UV, and mild solvents. Liner: release paper or PET film. Optional low-tack for repositioning.
